Macae de Cima

In the heart of the EPA – Environmental Protection Area - is Macae de Cima. Beautiful mountains and magnificent views of the Serra do Mar are an invitation to observe the Atlantic Forest in its primitive state. As the State of Rio de Janeiro second largest portion of the Atlantic Forest, it is in Macae de Cima that the forest is at its best. Macae de Cima is where the source of the Macae River is, springing down the mountain to reach the ocean kilometers away.
