Canopy Tour

Experience the CANOPY ADVENTURE,a kind of tour you will find in Rio Bonito de Lumiar, allowing for the unique feeling of living in the green of the mountains right in the middle of an ecological paradise, inserted in the Macaé de Cima EPA – Environmental Protection Area, one of the best preserved of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The tour starts in Lumiar on the Lumiar Aventura vehicles (previously scheduled) towards the site of the activity, through an unpaved road of about 20 kilometers to the operations base of the CANOPY AVENTURA. A beautiful ride of 1 hour and 20 minutes contemplating the intense green of the area, perfect for those looking for adventure.

According to the best known version of the history of canopy tour, the sport first appeared in the 1980’s in Costa Rica, where scientists studied the existing fauna and flora of the tree tops and, to avoid the constant climbing, created a way o go from one branch to another..Later, France and New Zealand adopted the idea as an adventure sport. England was introduced to it in 1997, when active preservationists used the technique to prevent the devastation of a forest.

Today the canopy tour technique has reached other frontiers like the development of Human Resources, adventure races, the settlement of public parks, or in private nature preservation areas, with the objective of, not only providing adventure and integration with the environment, but to be a source of human development in connection with nature and of improvement of a more environmentally friendly individual.
