Mury

On the way to the smaller villages is Mury. With its European-design constructions, Mury has vast commerce where we will find everything, grocery stores, shops, and several restaurants where we can taste from German, to traditional State of Minas Gerais cuisine, as well as fine barbecued meat. Mury has become the city of Nova Friburgo’s gourmet center with a great variety of typical restaurants. Cheese, wine, beer, delicatessen and trout are local treats. Handicraft also attracts tourists, and now the shops and small lingerie manufacturers are spreading all over, originating from Nova Friburgo.

Mury is half way from Nova Friburgo and the touristic districts of Lumiar and Sao Pedro, with their waterfalls and outdoors sports, like mountain climbing, canoeing, etc.. Mury is amidst Macae de Cima Forest Reservation, an environmental protection area, a perfect place for bird watching and exotic Mata Atlantica flora observation.
